La normalització lingüística al món del comerç i la indústria, els documents administratius

Resum

Extending the knowledge and use of Catalan up to the level proper of the official language of Catalonia is a process in which not only the autonomic and local institutions must participate, but which also requires the commitment of the whole community.  The world of commerce and industry, having already begun to assume its responsibility in the process of normalization, must bear the importance of this process in mind when choosing interior and exterior lettering, documentations, and all other aspects of its activities. The good sociolinguistic situation at present and the existence of a legal framework that increasingly supports the generalization of Catalan help in this task and the increase of the actual presence of this language in commercial and industrial activity.  (A policy of promoting the use of Catalan and passing decrees and orders which regulate it show the official institutions’ will to extend the physical presence of the Catalan language).  Finally, it is imperative to fix an  administrative and commercial language  based on the common ground  that lies between, on the one hand,  the tradition existing in the Catalan  language in administration and commerce,  and on the other, modern  tendencies which favour more efficient  communication and more useful,  practical printed forms
